The greatest internet story ever told might be the pauper to prince tale of Google and its incredible dominance over the internet since its inception. The company that now owns nearly three quarters of the search engine market began as ten four gigabyte hard drives housed in a lego storage compartment. Now it is hard to imagine an internet without google and the markets it has created for newly innovated and revamped products. One of these Google-borne innovations is SEO content.
Google’s first tweet, February 26, 2009, was binary code for the saying, I’m feeling lucky. If only they had known that their search engine rankings would become the launchpad for new marketing initiatives, maybe they would have offered, “We’re feeling lucky,” instead. But then again maybe that binary code just would not fit.
Nowadays SEO marketing is taking off, because Google search has created a market. This market is comprised of the 65% of mobile internet users that are using search engines to find local businesses and retailers on the go. Knowing how to connect with this market using SEO news or even SEO blogs to generate content has given businesses an entirely new playing field.
So how was that playing field laid?
Just like many other aspects of SEO, the plane it is played on was created by consumer interest. Seventy percent to 80% of all the search engine users do not look at sponsored search engine results. This means that by using google, consumers greatly truncated what was the given marketing paradigm.
So if you cannot reach consumers through traditional advertising and marketing, then how do you communicate to them. The answer that was generated by this question resulted in the first SEO tools to measure clicks on a webpage and then web page rankings became a concept of dire importance as businesses began checking their search engine results. SEO reporting was a necessity to navigate that playing field borne by Google.
SEO has only become more and more relevant as time goes by. About one out of every three businesses are outsourcing a portion of their marketing strategy to be put into effect by SEO resellers. These resellers generate content – anything from blog entries to youtube videos – in order to get businesses out there and able to be seen by consumers who are looking for them.
